Dundee Recovery Road Map (Mobile APP) For all IOS & Android devices. sets out a range of services available across the city of Dundee, including Mental health, Addiction Support, Health & Wellbeing, Rehab Information, Peer Support, Family/Carer's Support, & Online Recovery Support! We are creating an app of the pre-existing map which will soon be available to download on the IOS app - store with the intention to expand across multi-platforms including Android. The hope is to make services more accessible and available to the wider community with a simplistic user-friendly free to use app. Features include a category list with subcategory of scrollable descriptions with contact details containing contact numbers, links to websites, location map-view. With a 2020 Vision for a brighter future, we can shine extra light on the resources that we have available in our community… and with the same passion and same heart of gold that is on the poster and leaflet.

Hot Chocolate work with 300-400 young people each year from across Dundee. Life is difficult for most of them, and we’re privileged that they share their stories with us. We try to make Hot Chocolate feel like 'the opposite of trauma'; for them: that we're safe, trustworthy, empowering, collaborative, consistent, supportive. And, crucially, that we see them asthey are: full of energy, skill and brilliance. Lockdown made their life tougher (79% said their mental health deteriorated, 50% were worse off financially) and its impacts are hitting young people disproportionately (numbers not in education/employment doubled since March).
Hot Chocolate stayed alongside (online, by phone, taking walks) and are re-building youth work opportunities and support they can rely on. Your support would help our outdoor drop-in (3 nights a week) and street work in the city centre: youth workers creating a homely, safe place where young people can find company and support, and reaching out to connect with those struggling to connect.
Creative online and indoor work will continue alongside but the commitment to be with young people where they are and to be consistent through the uncertainties of Covid restrictions makes our outdoor work essential even into the Dundee winter.

We want to introduce our Support Cafe on Wheels. Due to the current circumstances, all of our operations have come to a pause apart from our Foodbank. With council community centres being closed we are unable to open all 5 of our support cafes, therefore we are planning to run our Support Café on Wheels – we will take a free hot lunch to the most isolated clients who were attending our support cafes.
We will deliver this to their door, ensuring social distance measures and guidance is in place. This not only provides them with a hot meal once a week but helps tackle social isolation and improve mental health and well-being by engaging with them directly. We’ll take time to listen and chat, so they know they’re not alone. We will focus on the regeneration areas where our support cafes were based, these are areas where people are faced with higher unemployment and lower incomes. Because we have built a wide range of partnerships with many other organisations across the city, we will be able to refer clients on to them, if they are experiencing difficulty or require support.
